Sidney Crosby has had better nights than the one he had on Tuesday.
Sure, he had an assist on the Penguins first (and lone) goal of the night to move give him the fifth 100-point season of his NHL career but from there, well, it got rough. Quite rough.
First, Crosby was inadvertently hit in the face by a linesman making a sign of a clear entry into the zone. Crosby had just come on the ice and was trying to skate into the play. Oops. (Via @MyRegularFace.)
That wasn't all the pain on the night for Crosby. Oh no, it would get worse when he took a faceoff opposite Manny Malhotra late in the game. After the draw Malhotra lifted his stick and, well, it caught Crosby in a tough spot. (Via @GoldandorSmith.)
Worst of all? The Penguins were beaten by the downtrodden Hurricanes 4-1 on home ice. It was just wasn't Crosby's night.
