At long last, the Detroit Red Wings are finally getting Pavel Datsyuk back.

Their star centerman issued the tweet that Wings fans have been waiting for, that he's ready to go. He's going to play Friday against the Buffalo Sabres.

Datsyuk has been suffering from a knee injury since the Winter Classic. He returned for a couple of games before the Olympics and represented Russia in Sochi but just two games after the Olympics he still didn't look right so the Wings shut him down.

The Red Wings have certainly managed to get by without Datsyuk and their captain Henrik Zetterberg in the post-Olympic playoff push thanks to the young guys like Gustav Nyquist and Tomas Tatar but getting back Datsyuk? Well any team will welcome that with open arms.

A perennial Selke Trophy candidate and all-around offensive wizard, Datsyuk further fortifies Detroit in its late push to reach the postseason. Not to mention he should really help a power play unit that hasn't been sharp of late.

This season Datsyuk has 15 goals and 18 assists in 39 games.
