Daniel Clarke Bouchard just sounds like a hockey player's name, doesn't it? Well it is, but it's also the name of a 14-year-old piano prodigy who has already played Carnegie Hall and other famous venues. But don't let the tuxedo fool you, he's also a goaltender.
Despite being from Montreal, Bouchard is a big Los Angeles Kings fan. He traveled to LA to be a guest on Ellen Degeneres' daytime talk show and perform for her audience. Before his performance he told Degeneres that his favorite player was Jonathan Quick and if he had the choice between being a pianist and a goalie when he grows up, he would choose both. Kids are great.
As Ellen is often known to do, she had an extra surprise for the 14-year-old entertainer. After his incredible performance, for which received a standing ovation from the audience, Bouchard was introduced to Kings netminder Jonathan Quick, who was waiting backstage.
Quick came bearing gifts including a goalie stick and a jersey for Bouchard and also offered him tickets to a game for the next time he is in town.
Naturally, Bouchard looked pretty excited about the whole thing, while Quick looked rather impressed with the piano skills of the young fan.
Who knew that hockey and classical piano would be such a good mix?
