St. Louis Blues forward T.J. Oshie took a hit to the head on Thursday night and was forced to leave the game against the Minnesota Wild.

Oshie was coming back through the offensive zone Wild forward Mike Rupp stepped up and delivered a hit. A high hit. He caught Oshie in the head and sent the Blues star to the ice in a heap as a result.

Here's a look in GIF form via @cjzero:

Certainly it didn't look good but Oshie did eventually skate off the ice with a little help. Obviously he left the game to be further evaluated.

If Oshie is going to miss any time with an injury such as a concussion it would be a huge blow to the Blues. He along with David Backes and Alexander Steen have been very productive this season in all phases of the game for the Blues and even though people know of his shootout abilities, he's much more than that. He's tied for the Blues lead in points with 60 this season on the strength of 21 goals and 39 assists.

As to the hit from Rupp? Well yeah, it was pretty bad. He was given a game misconduct for intent to injure as well as a five-minute major. Rupp hadn't played since February and the hit came just a couple days after his agent Allan Walsh had this to say about the Wild.

Oof.

Keep in mind, the Blues and Wild could end up being first-round opponents in the playoffs should Anaheim be the top seed in the West and the Blues are able to hold off Colorado in the Central.
