The Anaheim Ducks can breathe a sigh of relief, Ryan Getzlaf is going to be OK and won't miss any time.

In the closing seconds of the Ducks' 4-3 Game 1 win over the Stars on Wednesday, Getzlaf took a one-time slap shot off the stick of Tyler Seguin right to the face. He doesn't wear a shield, leaving his face even more exposed.

He went off the ice clutching a towel soaking up his blood. There was no telling how bad it might have been.

But the good news for the Ducks is that the x-rays were negative, it's just going to require some stitches.

By playoff hockey standards, that's pretty tame stuff and the Ducks say he's expected to be back for Game 2.

If Getzlaf were to miss any time it would be a devastating blow to the West's top seed. He had a season that will likely end with a second-place finish in Hart Trophy balloting for the NHL's MVP and does it all for the Ducks, especially since he's helping to defend the Stars' dynamite duo of Seguin and Jamie Benn.

Game 2 will be on Friday night in Anaheim.
