VIDEO: Kevin Shattenkirk's last-second goal caps crazy sequence

Kevin Shattenkirk ended the rather eventful first period of Game 2 between the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks in a rather perfect manner. With so much happening, it was only fitting that an absolute mad scramble in the Blackhawks zone ended with the Blues defenseman beating the buzzer for a big insurance goal for the home team.

This sequence was just dizzying. It included an absolutely terrific save by Corey Crawford on Jaden Schwartz, which kind of started a domino effect.

Schwartz collected his own rebound and looked for Vladimir Tarasenko alone in front. A nice play by Marian Hossa prevented Tarasenko from getting the pass as Hossa lifted his stick from behind.

Though Hossa's play prevented a golden opportunity for Tarasenko, it allowed the puck to skid right to Shattenkirk alone at the point. It wasn't on his stick long before he drilled a slap shot into the net, beating the out-of-position Crawford and giving the Blues a 2-0 lead at the last second.

The first two games of this series have been absolutely thrilling, regardless of which side you're rooting for or if you're enjoying as an impartial hockey fan. There was a lot of good and a lot of bad on that last sequence, which made it so fun.
