The Anaheim Ducks had the worst kind of surprise when the hit the ice for warmups on Wednesday night in Dallas; captain Ryan Getzlaf wasn't with them.
Shortly after it was announced that Getzlaf was not going to play in Game 4.

Welp, that's not the best news the Ducks will hear. It's actually a massive blow for them as Getzlaf has been the driving force for them this season, a season which will undoubtedly have him as a Hart Trophy finalist when they are announced soon. Getzlaf led the Ducks with 87 points this season in 77 games.
Getzlaf was injured late in Game 1 when he took a puck to the face in the dying seconds. It resulted in a deep laceration on his face but he was ruled OK for Game 2 and he played in Game 3 as well. At this point with upper-body injury being all the Ducks will say, there's no telling if there's any relation there.
It should be noted, though, that Getzlaf was involved in an altercation in Game 3 and wasn't too happy about it after the game either (via @MyRegularFace).
His scratch opened a spot in the lineup but it won't be filled by Teemu Selanne, he will still be a healthy scratch for the crucial Game 4. Instead Mark Fistric will slot in for the Ducks. Anaheim leads the series 2-1.
