The job of going in front of the net and screening the goalie isn't all just about dirty goals. Nope, you can score some awfully pretty goals from there too. Just ask Andrew Shaw.
The Blackhawks forward who has proven to be incredibly effective in Chicago the past two seasons, did his duty and went right to the front of the net on the Blackhawks power play, trying to screen goaltender Ryan Miller. With his back to the net and while jostling with the Blues defense, he happened to be in the middle of all the action.
So when the puck bounced through traffic in front of the net and was airborne to the right of the cage, Shaw was there to take a backhanded swing. And knock the puck in the net from out of the air.
It's not quite scoring with his shin pads but that was a thing of beauty.
