Facing elimination, the Dallas Stars needed to get off to a quick start and they did.
Things weren't looking so good when Trevor Daley took a penalty less than four minutes into the game but he made up for it in a big, big way when leaving the box. It just so happened to come at the exact right moment.
The Ducks had just produced an excellent scoring chance as the power play ticked to the end when the puck was deflected into the corner. Shawn Horcoff hopped on it and just wanted to get the puck out of the zone, firing it back through the middle of the zone with a hard backhand.
At that exact moment, Daley was sprung from the box and he followed the puck into the offensive zone as it came right to his tape. From there all he had to do was beat Frederik Andersen and with a nice little deke he did just that.
The chances of that Horcoff pass going right to Daley behind the Ducks defense are pretty slim but fortune smiled on the Stars and Daley made it count.
