Dan Carcillo is still not making any friends in his old stopming grounds of Philadelphia. The latest thing he did to torment the Flyers was score the opening goal of Game 7 on Wednesday night.
After a scoreless first period, Carcillo got the Rangers on the board early in the second period after a couple of excellent looks from the Blueshirts. After Steve Mason stopped two close looks, Carcillo got the puck back and passed it off to Mats Zuccarello by the side boards.
Then Zuccarello, after a quick pass to Kevin Klein and back, worked his magic, bought a little time and then flung this awesome backhand pass through traffic and to the far side of the crease for the Carcillo tap-in. Just like that, 1-0 Rangers.
It's a great story and all with Carcillo scoring his second goal of the series against his old team but let's please take a few moments to admire that pass from Zuccarello. That. Is. Filthy. Ridiculously filthy.
This is a good time to remind you the team that scores first in Game 7 has win the last 16 times.
