It would be a playoff game, it seems, without an impromptu cup check.
In Game 7 on Wednesday in New York it was Flyers defenseman Andrew MacDonald checking to see if Daniel Carcillo was fully equipped. The Rangers forward, who started the scoring in Game 7 but is known much more for his agitating play, and MacDonald got in a little tussle in front of the Flyers net and that's when MacDonald, who had his stick between the legs of Carcillo already, lifted it.
Carcillo's reaction should tell you how it felt (via @MyRegularFace):
So that couldn't feel good but really, why are so many guys going for the groin slash this postseason?
Perhaps for MacDonald it was frustration more than anything else, and not just at Carcillo. Through the first 40 minutes of the game MacDonald was credited with three turnovers, one of which ultimately led to Carcillo's goal. That hurts too.
