Ever since the season ended, there have been a lot of questions about John Tortorella's future as the Vancouver Canucks coach after one disappointing season. We're apparently going to hear the final word on Thursday and it's not good for Torts.

From Farham Lalji of TSN:

The Canucks were 36-35-11 in Tortorella's first season in Vancouver. He signed a five-year contract to coach the Canucks after he was let go by the Rangers after last season, eventually swapping teams with former Canucks coach Alain Vigneault.

The season also included Tortorella's suspension for going into the Flames dressing room area to confront Calgary coach Bob Hartley after a line brawl at the start of their game in January.

Tortorella was already under scrutiny when the Canucks' fate as a non-playoff team became clear considering their position a playoff regular in recent years. Then when GM Mike Gillis was fired and Trevor Linden came onboard in the hockey operations department, it only raised questions.

If the report comes to fruition, the Canucks will be the fourth team with a job opening this summer joining the Predators, Capitals and Panthers.
