Jimmy Howard life-size bobblehead stolen then recovered in Detroit

By Brian Stubits | CBSSports.com

Apparently the punishment for losing a first-round series in Detroit is something like you would hear in a Medieval court: Off with his (bobble)head!

A life-sized bobblehead of Jimmy Howard was erected in Hockeytown outside of the Fox Sports Detroit offices but his head vanished Thursday morning. He was decapitated with no sign of the bobblehead anywhere.

But later on the head was found by police and one suspect was arrested in the case. From Detroit News:

A man in his 20s was arrested Thursday morning from a home in Allen Park in connection to the missing head, according to Allen Park Police Chief James Wilkewitz.

"We went to that person's house, and they admitted to the theft, and they told us where the head was," Wilkewitz said.

Officers found the head near a railroad underpass, Wilkewitz said. Since the crime occurred in Detroit, Wilkewitz said Detroit police will be taking over the investigation, which includes the search for three more suspects.

Here's what the head looked like when recovered. It is a lot freakier when disembodied.

I guess you could say *puts on sunglasses* that the head case has been cracked (I regret nothing).

Unfortunately, the head off the Pavel Datsyuk bobblehead is also gone. It has been missing since last week and hasn't been found. Getting that head back would be nice, though, as not only are the bobbleheads there for enjoyment of Detroit fans but will be auctioned off to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of America.
