Ken Hitchcock will be back for another season behind the St. Louis Blues bench but two of his assistants won't.

On Wednesday the Blues announced that Hitchcock as agreed to a one-year contract extension with the club. His contract in St. Louis was up after this summer after joining the Blues in place of Payne Davis early in the 2011-12.

Since Hitchcock took over the Blues they are 124-55-20 in the regular season and he was such a hit in his first season that he took home the Jack Adams Award as the league's top coach.

While Hitchcock will be back hoping to make a deeper un in the playoffs after another first-round exit, assistant coach Gary Agnew and goalie coach Corey Hirsch will not be back.

"I would like to thank Gary and Corey for their diligence and dedication as members of our organization, and wish them nothing but success in their future endeavors," GM Doug Armstrong said.

Hirsch in particular shouldn't have too tough of a time getting another goalie gig if he wants it, the Blues won the Jennings Trophy with the tandem of Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliott. Plus, he has a really fun Twitter account.
