The Los Angeles Kings have the benefit of being the default favorite team for the litany of celebrities that call Hollywood home. One such famous fan is celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis. To show her true fandom, De Laurentiis fixed up a recipe just for her fellow Kings supporters: duck soup.
This isn't just any duck soup, though. It's Anaheim Ducks soup.
“I always use Anaheim Duck because they're slow, they're lazy and they have thin skin,” De Laurentiis says with a smile, while placing a hopefully deceased Wild Wing into a boiling pot of water.
She also shows that the best way to chop celery for the soup, like any good soup would have, is to chop to the beat of a “Go Kings Go” chant.
Is it possible for a celebrity chef to provide bulletin board material for a team? I am really concerned about how Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry are going to recover from such a sick burn from one of America's favorite culinary artists.
The often bubbly De Laurentiis shows that under that apron and smile lays the heart of a cold-blooded hockey fan.
Between the anti-Ducks billboards and this, Anaheim better find a way to start fighting fire with fire here, though they did take Game 3 on the Kings' home ice. I'm guessing they'll prefer that.
The Kings lead the Ducks 2-1 in their second-round Stanley Cup Playoffs series.
