Evgeni Malkin may have had a relatively slow start to this postseason, but he's been a threat every time he's on the ice it seems of late. He scored his third goal of the Pittsburgh Penguins' second-round series against the New York Rangers Friday night in Game 5 and it was an awfully pretty one.

Malkin took a pass from Kris Letang in the neutral zone and then he did all the rest. He drew both defenders to him, but somehow was able to squeeze through and get a shot away. Henrik Lundqvist made the initial stop, but the rebound popped right to Malkin. He was too far for a shot, so he spun around and slid the puck past Lundqvist and in from a near impossible angle.

Malkin now has 13 points including six goals in the postseason and is making a pretty convincing argument as a Conn Smythe candidate should the Penguins advance further.

The playoffs are a heck of a lot more fun when the league's stars are doing things like that. What a goal.

The goal cut the Penguins' deficit to 2-1 in Game 5, which would clinch the series if the Penguins are able to find a way to win. Unfortunately for Malkin, who was having a tremendous game, the Rangers scored twice more after Malkin's goal to extend their lead to 4-1.
