A little water never hurt anybody, right? Sure, but a poorly timed squirt sure can cause some trouble.
In the closing minutes of Boston's 4-2 win over the Canadiens on Saturday, P.K. Subban skated by the Bruins bench where Shawn Thornton was hydrating. Apparently he thought Subban, who just happened to score moments before, could use a drink himself.
So as Subban skated by, Thornton decided to spray some water on him. Watch the last man on the Bruins' bench closely (via @MyRegularFace):
Subban was rightfully pretty upset about it. At the dead puck, Subban returned to the Bruins bench to talk to Thornton and let the officials know just what Thornton had done.
Of course he went unpunished and Thornton giggled like a kid who managed to get away with bullying (also from @MyRegularFace).
Thornton might have enjoyed it but Subban certainly didn't.
Well that's not entirely true. Subban said after the game that he didn't mind but he rightfully brought up the question: what if it were me?
PK Subban on the water incident:"It happen twice. If it was me who did that it would have been in the news for the next 3 days." #tvasports— Renaud Lavoie (@renlavoietva) May 11, 2014
At this point it's probably not a good idea to get Subban riled up before Game 6 in Montreal but given how well he is playing right now, it's tough to imagine he could play any better.
Just another day in the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry.
