VIDEO: Wild's Erik Haula goes end-to-end, scores goal on weird bounce

There's a lot going on with this goal Erik Haula scored to give the Minnesota Wild a 1-0 lead over the Chicago Blackhawks in Game 5 Sunday night.

First off, the Minnesota rookie goes end-to-end after a rather innocuous pass from Jared Spurgeon, putting on on a great display of awareness to find the open ice and the speed to exploit it. Once Haula got into the Blackhawks zone, he gets a shot off, but it was stopped by Chicago goalie Corey Crawford. Haula kept at it, though, trying to jam home his own rebound, but Crawford was there to stop it again. Only this time, the rebound popped straight up into the air and ended up landing behind Crawford in the net.

So from Haula's speed to get down the ice to the surprising way the puck actually entered the net, this is a rather crazy goal. The start was prettier than the finish, that's for sure.

For Haula, it's a continuation of his impressive performance this postseason and particularly in this second-round series. The 23-year-old rookie now has four points in the series and six overall this postseason, including three goals. He only played in 46 games with the big club during the regular season, splitting time between Minnesota and its AHL affiliate in Des Moines, Iowa.

The former Minnesota Golden Gopher captain and Shattuck-St. Mary's standout was born in Finland, but is he ever doing the State of Hockey rather proud right now.
