Scoring the first goal has been huge not only in the series between the Bruins and Canadiens but all series so far.

In Game 6 the Canadiens got that imperative first goal thanks in part to a misplay by Bruins defenseman Kevan Miller, and in part to a friendly bounce at Bell Centre. Whatever the culprit, the puck went right to the slot where the only player was Lars Eller for Montreal.

One deke around Tuukka Rask later and the Canadiens had a 1-0 lead. Miller knew he was to blame for the early deficit and was sure to skate by Rask to apologize, or just admit he knows he was the guilty one.
