It's been one rollercoaster week of emotions for Rangers forward Martin St. Louis. His mother died the day before Game 5 of New York's series with the Penguins but he returned right away and didn't miss any games.

The Rangers around him have been there through the heartbreak, something he thanked them for in a few emotional postgame speeches as the Rangers won the next three games to advance.

They will continue to be by St. Louis' side as they get set to face the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The funeral for St. Louis' mother, France, who will be buried in their native Quebec, was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday but that's when the Rangers are set to open their series with the Habs. As a result, the funeral has been pushed to Sunday so he can attend. He'll have company.

What a great gesture from the Rangers, that's exactly why people talk about hockey teams being families. One of them is going through one of the toughest times of his life and they are all there for him, even a guy who has only been on the team a couple of months.

Certainly it helps that circumstances have the Rangers in Quebec already, making this easier but they are still going to give up precious off-day time to be with their teammate.
