The wait for the Chicago Blackhawks is over, Andrew Shaw is finally ready to play again.

Out since suffering an injury in Game 1 of the second-round series against the Wild, Shaw has been listed as day-to-day ever since. Every game the update was the same; Shaw was out.

It changed before Game 2 when Shaw was back on the ice with his teammates and he spoke to the media but the Blackhawks elected to keep him out again. Now with the series shifting to Los Angeles for Games 3 and 4, Shaw is back in the lineup.

At the Blackhawks' practice on Friday, Shaw was in and Peter Regin was out. Coach Joel Quenneville was pleased to have one of his regulars back.

"We're happy to have Shawsy back," Quenneville said. "He's been there mostly all year, so that's where he's at."

Shaw had his best season yet in the NHL this season with 20 goals and 19 assists in 80 games, scoring five of those 20 on the man advantage. So far in these playoffs he's added two more goals (one on the power play) and two assists in just less than 16 minutes per game.

Game 3 is set for Saturday night in Los Angeles with the series tied at 1-1.
