Of all the Blackhawks who might score the game-winning goal, Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane were excellent choices with the games they had on Wednesday night. But they only assisted on Michal Handzus' winner in double overtime for a 5-4 Blackhawks win in Game 5.

After just a breakneck period of hockey in the first overtime, the Kings and Blackhawks actually spent a few seconds in the neutral zone early in the second OT. The Blackhawks made the play and came away with the puck with their three forwards making great runs toward the net and creating a bit of a blown coverage for the Kings.

Kane won the puck and passed over to Saad as they went to separate wings with Handzus coming in behind on the forecheck. Kane did a great job drawing a defender with him as he cut through the slot, leaving Handzus to slide right into the slide undetected. As he did all game long, Saad made the right read and got the pass to Handzus who didn't miss from in tight on Kings goalie Jonathan Quick.

Just like that, the Western Conference finals are headed for a Game 6 in LA on Friday which is great news for any hockey fans that watched because that was some incredible hockey in Chicago on Wednesday night.

How unlikely was it that Handzus scored the winner? Well perhaps not as wild as, say Brandon Bollig, but it was just the second goal of the postseason for Handzus and his third point. This season in 59 games the 37-year-old former King had just four goals and 12 assists.

What better time than the second overtime to get one more?
