Through the first 35 minutes of Thursday night's Game 6, the Montreal Canadiens didn't test Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist very much. But when they finally did, was Lundqvist ever up to the challenge.
Thomas Vanek was on his way to the net with a potential 2-on-0 look, albeit without spacing, in a scoreless game. In a last-ditch effort, Dan Girardi dove and was able to slightly deflect Vanek's shot.
All that did was make the save harder for Lundqvist, forcing him to change directions. Wildly, Lundqvist threw his blocker up to fight the puck off, losing his stick in the process and while pinwheeling in the crease, somehow managed to swat the puck away and keep it out of the next.
Looks like he forget all about getting pulled in Game 5.
