The Chicago Blackhawks seem to have really found something in the combination of Patrick Kane and Brandon Saad. The two Americans teamed up for another goal in the opening minutes of Game 7 on Sunday.
And what a nice goal it was.
Kane, who now has two goals and seven assists in the last three games plus the first five minutes of Game 7, made the play happen again. From behind the Kings net, he zipped a pass over to Brandon Saad on the other side of the cage but right on the tap. Great play Part I.
Then it was Saad's turn to impress and he did just that, scoring from just about no angle, going off Jonathan Quick and into the Kings net.
Just like that, for the fifth time in seven games in the Western Conference finals, the Blackhawks were on the board first. By putting Kane and Saad together with Andrew Shaw, I think we found the best coaching decision of the series.
