The Stanley Cup Final between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings has all of the drama you could ask for out of a finale. Two really good hockey teams, filled with star players and playing out of two great sports arenas. There's plenty.

The biggest overriding theme of this series, however, will be the bi-coastal clash between teams from the biggest cities in the U.S. With that in mind, the NHL produced a new trailer to preview the Stanley Cup Final and it is predictably great.

The Stanley Cup really doesn't need to be overhyped because its lofty position among all of professional sports in North America has been well earned, but it doesn't hurt to give fans a little extra juice heading into Wednesday night's contest. With some of the best imagery from this postseason and landmarks from the two iconic cities, this trailer hits all the right notes.

With two really strong teams from opposite sides of the country, one seeking its second Cup in three years and the other looking to break a 20 year drought and a team that casts as large a shadow over an organization as any other, this is going to be a special week-plus of hockey to close out the 2013-14 season.

This New York-Los Angeles angle might be a little gag-inducing for the fans of many great cities sandwiched between the two, but there's a fair amount of history on the line here, which should bring about interest from sports fans far and wide.

This matchup between the Rangers and Kings is the first championship matchup between Los Angeles and New York in men's professional sports since the 1981 World Series between the Yankees and Dodgers. Not only that, but this series actually carries a little more historic weight in the battle of heavyweight cities.

Teams from Los Angeles and New York have met 10 times previously in their leagues' championship series. New York has won five and Los Angeles has won five. So not only is the Stanley Cup on the line, this is the city superiority rubber match. And since it's been 33 years since the last time the two cities met in major professional sports, whichever team and city wins could have bragging rights for a long time.

This should be a great Stanley Cup Final, but even more so, a great moment in professional sports.
