The New York Rangers are going to need some bounces to get back in the Stanley Cup Final as they trail the Los Angeles Kings 2-0. In the first period of Game 3, they really needed one and didn't get it.
Mats Zuccarello had mere inches between the puck on his stick and the goal line. He didn't have much time to get a shot away, but he didn't need to get it terribly far. Stationed just outside the crease in front of the Kings net, Zuccarello slid the puck to the net.
Just as Zuccarello was letting the puck go, Kings netminder Jonathan Quick was lurching with his goalie stick outstretched. Somehow the puck stayed out.

And from above.
After reviewing the replay multiple times, Zuccarello's shot actually glanced off the post and through the crease. Quick may have been able to get a stick on it if the diminutive Norwegian forward's shot hadn't clanked off the post, but it would have been terribly close.
It seems that the Kings have sucked up all the luck for this final. The Rangers haven't had many bounces go their way to date in the Stanley Cup Final and this is yet another tough blow. It was made worse when the Kings scored a buzzer-beating goal to end the first period.
