Kings win 3-2 | LA wins Stanley Cup, four games to one

LA Kings: The Cup is LA's once again! After one of the most exciting games you'll ever see with two amazing overtime sequences, the Kings persevered and prevailed to win the Cup. After playing 25 games this postseason and then nearly 100 minutes on Friday night they still had enough energy to drive forward and it paid off with an Alec Martinez goal. In the end it's hard to say they didn't deserve to be there as they outshot the Rangers 51-30 to hoist the Stanley Cup on home ice again. What an amazing postseason run for Los Angeles, one that started with a three-game losing streak and now ends with the greatest trophy in sports.

New York Rangers: That is going to be an awfully tough game to take into the offseason for the Rangers, and a tough series loss. The Rangers never gave up and didn't buckle when they went down a goal to the Kings early in the game. Where the Rangers really excelled was in two areas on Friday night -- in special teams and of course with their goaltending. They had a tough time matching the Kings when the game was being played at even strength and when the pace picked up, but they were still hanging with the Kings nonetheless and had a couple of chances that were so close. The final series line makes it seem like the Rangers were no match for the King but that couldn't be further from the truth. One heck of a series and one heck of a playoff run for the Rangers.

Play of the Game: We could pick so many great saves in this game but nothing beats a Stanley Cup clincher in overtime so Alec Martinez, here it is:

Player of the Game: OK so it's a bit of a cop out but we're naming both goaltenders for this one because Henrik Lundqvist and Jonathan Quick were both outstanding. There were so many times that you were left saying "how did that puck stay out?" and aside from a couple of posts in overtime, the answer was always one of the two goalies. The interesting thing was neither of them looked to be completely locked in, a lot of shaky stops and rebounds but they both battled through every shot and kept making the saves.

Turning Point: Where do you even begin to look for one in this game? There were so many of them but perhaps the biggest was the penalty called on Mats Zuccarello in the third period that led to a Kings power play and the game-tying goal from Marian Gaborik. It was one Rangers fans will talk about for a long time and rightfully so. It was a tough call and no doubt it was a big turning point.
