The Vancouver Canucks have themselves a high-priced goaltender once again.

In a move that seemed increasingly likely as July 1 approached, the Vancouver Canucks signed Ryan Miller to a three-year deal on Tuesday and judging by the money, he's being signed as the clear No. 1 goalie.

So let the goalie controversy begin in 3 ... 2 ...

Really, though, it should be a good fit for Miller in Vancouver. Eddie Lack showed well last season along with Roberto Luongo and then later Jacob Markstrom, but he's still young and could use more seasoning. Miller will allow Lack to come along slowly while bridging the Canucks in net for another few years.

Miller had a rough finish to last season after a trade to the Blues but still finished the year with a .918 save percentage and is certainly still a valuable goaltender. The price is perhaps a bit high but it was going to cost to sign Miller given his last deal exceeded $6 million annually.

Given the three-year deal, it seems like a good fit for Miller in Vancouver, one of the only teams that could potentially have a spot for a No. 1 goaltender this summer. Not to mention it gets Miller on the West Coast, something he has been looking for.
