Well really it's courtesy of Kopitar and his dog Gustl. Getting ready for the big day of taking the Cup through his home nation of Slovenia, Kopitar and his pup prepared for the day by eating breakfast out of the Cup; Anze out of Lord Stanley's chalice and Gustl from his own, mini replica.
Kopitar took the Cup -- the real one, not Gustl's -- on a parade through Slovenia as the nation's sporting hero but the image below can't match the one above ... and probably no photo will at all this summer.
It's been a pretty spectacular year for Kopitar and hockey in Slovenia. Not only did he have a fantastic postseason, helping to lead the Kings to another Cup and return the Cup to his home nation, but he also helped the Slovenians turn in a very impressive (and surprising) showing at the Olympics while he earned himself a nod as a finalist for the Selke Trophy. And he got to feed his dog out of a mini Cup.
