NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Marek Zidlicky and Scott Walker stole a point from the San Jose Sharks.
Zidlicky scored with 16 seconds left in overtime to give the Nashville Predators a 3-2 victory over San Jose on Saturday night.
"We had our opportunities to put the game away, and unfortunately, we didn't," San Jose coach Ron Wilson said. "When you don't finish a team, if somebody's a little off or makes a mental mistake, they are going to get paid back in spades."
Zidlicky scored off Walker's rebound.
"The Sharks' line was tired so I figured I would just drive to the net," Walker said. "I ended up crashing the net and Zidlicky came in and buried it."
Walker tied it at 7:22 of the third, taking a shot from the right side that bounced off goalie Evgeni Nabokov's right leg pad.
"Every game we play, it's kind of a joke," Walker said. "We come in here and say, 'This is the biggest game of the year.' Then we come back the next game and say, 'This is the biggest game of the year.' They're all huge for us because we are playing so many teams in our conference."
Nashville opened the scoring on David Legwand's power-play goal at 4:02 of the second period, but San Jose scored twice late in the period to take a 2-1 lead.
Patrick Marleau tied it with 4:51 left in the period, and Wayne Primeau made it 2-1 with 2:17 remaining.
Notes
- Walker has 21 points (eight goals, 13 assists) in his last 21 games. He leads the Predators in goals with 16.
- Marleau, the Sharks' leading goal scorer with 22, has five points (three goals, two assists) in his last three games.
- The Predators are 9-0-2-0 in their last 11 games at home.
