Foster cut the deficit to 2-1 with 23 seconds remaining in the period. He was set up by Gaborik's cross-ice, one-touch pass.
MacDonald made it 3-1 at 6:01 of the second when his shot from the right circle deflected in off the stick of Minnesota's defenseman Brent Burns.
Bolland deflected in a five-on-three power-play goal at 9:18 to extend Chicago's lead to 4-1.
