TORONTO -- Jiri Hudler and Henrik Zetterberg beat Andrew Raycroft in a shootout to give the Detroit Red Wings a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday in the final game of the NHL exhibition season.
Zetterberg deked Raycroft out of position and backhanded the puck over the line to put Detroit ahead 2-1 in the shootout, and the Red Wings' Chris Osgood then ended the game by stopping Kyle Wellwood with a glove save at the goal line.
Danny Markov and Kris Draper scored in regulation for Red Wings (6-1-2), who completed a weekend sweep after beating Toronto 4-2 on Saturday night in Detroit.
Mats Sundin and Pavel Kubina scored for Toronto (3-5-0), and Sundin had the Maple Leafs' lone goal in the shootout.
Osgood finished with 21 saves, and Raycroft stopped 26 shots.
Toronto will open the regular season Wednesday night at home against Ottawa, while Detroit will begin play Thursday night at home against Vancouver.
