Anaheim at Calgary

Flames 5, Ducks 3

CBSSports.com wire reports

CALGARY, Alberta -- Kristian Huselius made the play that got Calgary back in the game. Jarome Iginla just won it.

Iginla scored two goals, including one on a power play late in the third period that gave the Flames a 5-3 win over the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

But when Huselius stole the pick from defenseman Scott Niedermayer behind the net and snapped past Jean-Sebastien Giguere to tie the game, the tide turned.

"It's the tying goal but it's also a big momentum goal," Iginla said. "He was on fire again tonight."

Dustin Boyd scored a goal and Craig Conroy had three assists for the Flames, who were winless in their last three games at home.

Todd Bertuzzi, George Parros and Scott Niedermayer scored for the Ducks, whose four-game winning streak was snapped.

The Flames took a 1-0 lead at 1:42 of the first period when Boyd gained control of the puck in the slot before he turned and fired a shot past Anaheim goalie J.S. Giguere.

Five minutes later the Ducks tied the game when Bertuzzi converted a pass from Ryan Getzlaf during a power play. Late in the first, Bobby Ryan fanned on a shot from the slot but the puck went right to Parros who was situated at the side of the net. Parros quickly snapped a shot past Calgary goalie Miikka Kiprusoff to give the Ducks a one-goal lead.

Kunitz then tipped in a point shot by Scott Niedermayer during an early second-period power play to give the Ducks a 3-1 lead.

But a goal from Iginla, and then Huselius' steal tied it.

"It was a little bouncy there," Niedermayer said. "I've just got to make a smarter, simpler play. I took a bit of a chance turning back and the puck jumped up."

In the third, Iginla's slap shot from the point went off of Chris Pronger's chest and into the net behind Giguere before Huselius rounded out the scoring with an empty-net goal.

"We gave them far too many opportunities," Anaheim coach Randy Carlyle said. "You can't continually kill penalties in the third period and expect to win the hockey game."

The Ducks fell to 4-1-1 since the return of Scott Niedermayer to the lineup. ... For Parros, it was just his fourth goal in 126 career NHL games and first in 39 games since last scoring against the Chicago Blackhawks on March 28, 2007. ... Eric Nystrom had an assist on Boyd's goal to break a 17-game pointless streak.
