Canucks goalie Roberto Luongo leaves game with injury
The veteran netminder is day-to-day with a lower body injury.
Luongo left Vancouver's win over the Winnipeg Jets in the first period after he was apparently clipped by Dustin Byfuglien. Canucks coach John Tortorello said after the game that he didn't realize Luongo had been injured and he was surprised to see the veteran goalie come out of the game.
“I didn’t know,” Tortorello said. “It surprised me.”
Luongo was replaced by backup Eddie Lack, who stopped 15 shots to run his record to 6-2-0.
