Frederik Andersen pulled in second straight road game for Ducks
Frederik Andersen was pulled in the second period after giving up four goals on 12 Dallas shots, the second time in three games. What will the Ducks do from here?
Andersen was tabbed the Ducks' starting goalie coming into the playoffs ahead of Jonas Hiller and fellow rookie John Gibson. In Anaheim he has looked pretty good. In Dallas, though, it's been a different story.
Especially in Game 6. The Stars scored four goals on just 12 shots in a little more than 30 seconds, including two from defenseman Trevor Daley. That brought an early end to the night for Andersen, pulled in favor of Hiller.
Andersen was not a happy camper about it either (via @PeteBlackburn).
The bigger question now is what do the Ducks do moving forward as they advance into the next round since Andersen isn't inspiring a ton of confidence at the moment.
It's an old issue for Bruce Boudreau, one the Ducks coach probably doesn't want to relive. He had a similar issue in Washington with the Capitals in the playoffs, too. It's not the time of year you want the bad flashbacks.
Game 6 was actually the third straight game in this series a goaltender was pulled; the Stars removed Kari Lehtonen in the third period of Game 5 for Tim Thomas.
