Jannik Hansen suspended one game for hit on Marian Hossa
Vancouver Canucks forward Jannik Hansen was suspended one game on Wednesday for his hit on Marian Hossa
He had a disciplinary hearing with the league on Wednesday afternoon.
The incident occurred less than two minutes into the third period of Chicago's 4-3 shootout win. Hossa left the game and did not return. He was knocked out of last year's playoff series against Phoenix after suffering a concussion when he was hit by Coyotes forward Raffi Torres.
Hansen doesn't have a track record of being a dirty player, but it's the second time this season he has drawn attention to himself. Earlier this season, he avoided discipline from the league when he appeared to cross-check a referee in the back during a skirmish before a faceoff in a game against the San Jose Sharks.
