New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur has said in the past that he would like to have a role on Canada's 2014 Olympic hockey team.

But not a sizeable one, apparently, since the veteran said Sunday that he believes Vancouver Canucks net-minder Roberto Luongo deserves to be the country's No. 1 goalie.

Both Luongo and Brodeur were on Canada's 2010 team that won gold, with Luongo supplanting Brodeur as the team's starting goalie that year.

Brodeur and Luongo will face off Tuesday in Vancouver, though Cory Schneider is expected to start in net for New Jersey.
