Milan Lucic spears Alexei Emelin again? Habs 'fuming' over incident
Milan Lucic got off for a spear in the first round and he might get away with another. The Canadiens were reportedly fuming about a Lucic spear on Alexei Emelin on Tuesday.
Is Milan Lucic at it again?
The mercurial Boston Bruins power forward came under a lot of heat in the first round for his spear right to the jewels of Danny DeKeyser in the first round. He escaped punishment beyond a fine as he had never received a warning before.
Well Lucic appears to have delivered another spear, this one to Alexei Emelin on Tuesday night. According to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet, the penalty happening and going uncalled left the Canadiens "fuming" after the game.
Still, it doesn't look as though Lucic will be suspended.
Certainly this spear isn't quite in the same ballpark (pun not intended) as the one on DeKeyser, this jab went to Emelin's midsection. But a spear is a spear no matter which part of the body it is to; it's natural to get more upset when it's to the nether regions but either way, nobody likes to see a spear, even if it is a bit soft.
This is the latest in a rather long line of incidents between Emelin and Lucic, they are not very fond of one another. It's actually the second time Lucic has apparently speared Emelin, it also happened less than two months ago in Boston.
That battle spilled over some into the postgame media scrum with Lucic.
Bruins-Canadiens is never boring, is it?
