Nemo pushes Tampa Bay at Boston back to last week of season
The Tampa Bay-Boston game postponed by Winter Storm Nemo Saturday, will be made up the last week of the season
Just like a snow day tacks on an extra makeup day or two at the end of a school year, the Tampa Bay-Boston game that was postponed Saturday will be played during the last week of the season.
The Bruins were due to welcome the Lightning Feb. 9, but the immense snowfall from Winter Storm Nemo caused a State of Emergency in
Boston leading to the rescheduling. The game will now be played April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at T.D. Garden.
Adding a game at that point of the season, with both teams likely jockeying for playoff position obviously isn’t ideal.
As a result of the rescheduling, the Bruins will close out the season with a two-week stretch where the club will play games every other day. The Lightning, meanwhile will have to play back-to-back games on April 24 and 25, traveling from Tampa to Boston for the postponed tilt.
That extra game in the last week of the season a little tougher for both teams, but there wasn't much else the league could do with an already tight schedule.
