No discipline hearing for Johan Franzen after spearing incident
Johan Franzen does not have a disciplinary hearing scheduled for spearing David Perron on Thursday night.
Given the fact that it was a pretty blatant spear to Perron's midsection and that Franzen was ejected, it seemed reasonable to think the NHL would take a closer look at it for potential supplemental discipline.
If the league did look at it, it has determined the five-minute major and game misconduct were enough punishment.
A league spokesperson told CBSSports.com on Friday morning that no hearings were scheduled following Thursday's game, which means Franzen won't be facing any further discipline.
That also means Perron, who started the altercation by hitting Franzen from behind into the glass and earning himself a minor penalty for boarding, will also face no further discipline.
