The Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL are getting in the New Year's spirit with tuxedo jerseys.
|Nice look there, Phantoms. (Phantoms Facebook)|
New Year's Day is certainly part of the holiday season, but outside of a good amount of debauchers and people wearing silly year glasses, most people don't get into the New Year's spirit.
The Adirondack Phantoms of the AHL aren't most people.
The Phantoms are playing their annual New Year's Eve matinee and are looking awfully dapper, or at least as dapper as one can in a sweaty hockey uniform. They have taken the tuxedo shirt to the next level with the tuxedo jersey.
I'll say this: It sure beats a Canadian tuxedo.
The Phantoms aren't just wearing them to look ridiculous or anything. After the game, they will auction off the jerseys with the proceeds going to the WAIT House of Glens Falls. And if you were wondering about the orange, well, they are an affiliate of the Flyers.
Happy New Year!
