PHOTO: Empire State Building lights up for Rangers win
The Empire State Building lit up in support of the New York Rangers after they earned a 2-1 win over the Los Angeles Kings in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final.
The New York Rangers may have turned the optimism back up in their city after winning Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final to keep series alive against the Los Angeles Kings. Building that enthusiasm around the city has been important for the Rangers and now they’ll need to hope that enthusiasm continues to turn into support for a team that will need a lot of it still trailing the series 3-1.
The City of New York and some of its iconic buildings are down to help show the Rangers how they feel. The Empire State Building, perhaps the most famous structure of them all, lit up Wednesday night to celebrate the Rangers’ big 2-1 win to stave off elimination.
That must be a rather beautiful sight to Ranger fans (and perhaps not so pleasant to Islander fans milling aimlessly through town).
Hockey fever is alive and well in two of the nation’s most famous locales. Now the Rangers have to find a way to keep it going in their home town for a little while longer as they continue their climb back into this Stanley Cup Final.
