PHOTO: Senators' Heritage Classic sweater leaked?
The Ottawa Senators are about to unveil their Heritage Classic sweaters later this week but they were apparently leaked on Wednesday, ruining the suspense.
It's that time when all of the special uniforms for the Stadium Series are being unveiled. First it was the Islanders and then later this week the Ottawa Senators will show off their duds for the Heritage Classic in Vancouver.
Similar to how the Buffalo Sabres revealed their third jersey this summer, the Senators have slowly been leaking images of the special uniform on their Twitter account. The suspense was ruined though when Icethetics got wind of the entire jersey being leaked.
Here's one thing for sure: it's indeed a classic.
This sweater is complementary to the third jersey the Sens have been wearing for a while now that is an homage to the first Senators way back when. Those jerseys have a base color of black with the red and cream stripes, all overlayed by the O in the center. This leaked sweater for the Heritage Classic is what you would expect the road jersey to look like in the same design.
Now this is just the sweater and you can't see the whole thing, but it looks pretty outstanding. I wouldn't object one bit if the Senators were to ever elect to go to the retro uniforms full time in the future.
