The NHL revealed the team logos that will be used in connection with the four Stadium Series games that will be played outdoors in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Teams are expected to unveil their full uniforms for the games soon, but the logos may offer a peak at what direction the teams will be going in.

Each logo is chrome-treated, “bringing a modern perspective to conventional team identities,” according to the NHL.

Most intriguing of all is the New Jersey Devils logo, which is trimmed in green. That is likely suggesting the club is going to go with some sort of variation of their old uniforms, which had the glorious green shoulders and pants. Sure they looked like a Christmas explosion, but they’re pretty slick, too.

The Devils recently wore them as throwbacks.

The New York Islanders logo is also a little different from its primary mark, as well, with only the “NY” with a hockey stick and no picture of Long Island in the background. Perhaps this is a glimpse of what the Islanders' logo will look like when they complete the move to Brooklyn?

The Anaheim Ducks, New York Rangers, Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins all seem to be sticking with their current logos.

The Los Angeles Kings aren't straying far from tradition either, with the crown appearing to be their primary logo for the Stadium Series. It is already featured on their current jerseys, but not as prominently as those of the mid-2000s.

You can see the rest of the chrome logos here.

If there’s one thing that more outdoor games are good for, it’s the jerseys. If we're using the Winter Classic as a guide, those sweaters have been pretty solid. Hopefully they do these up right, too.
