Report: Flames agree to deal with KHL goalie of blooper-reel infamy
The Flames reportedly have a deal in place with goalie Karri Ramo. Who knows if he'll be the answer in Calgary, but his bloopers are great.
On the Calgary Flames' list of things to do this summer, finding a goalie was one of the more pressing items. It's quite possible that Miikka Kiprusoff has played his last game in the NHL or will play one more season before hanging up the skates, so they have to do something.
That something appears to be signing Karri Ramo to come over from the KHL. That's according to Andy Strickland of True Hockey.
You remember Ramo, who is a former draft pick of the Lightning. He played from 2006 to 2009 with Tampa Bay, recording an .895 save percentage and a 3.35 goals-against average in 48 games. If that doesn't ring a bell, perhaps these two goals he gave up in the KHL will. (Truth be told, this is the real reason for doing a post because, well, it's Karri Ramo.)
To be fair, Ramo has been pretty good in the KHL. In 40 games for Omsk Avangard this past season he had a 2.00 goals-against average and .929 save percentage. Still, he can't be the answer for Calgary's nets, can he?
