ShaneDoan

The Shane Doan free agency tour continued on Tuesday evening with a trip to Vancouver to meet with the Canucks brass, according to multiple reports, including 1130 AM in Vancouver.

Doan, as you no doubt know by now, is the last of the top free agents still remaining and is taking his time on making a decision on where he will play this season if he doesn't return to the Phoenix Coyotes.

There remains a lot of interest in his services around the league as he's already had visits with the Flyers and Rangers in recent weeks, and was reported to have a visit scheduled with the Penguins.

The biggest issue for teams right now still might be his asking price which is rumored to be in the area of four years and $30 million, which seems more than a little expensive for a soon-to-be 36-year-old forward that's averaged 55 points over the past three seasons.

He's still a very good, productive player, but probably not at that price.

According to CapGeek the Canucks, as of Wednesday afternoon, have just a little over $2 million in salary cap space so any potential Doan signing would have to be followed by another move.

Doan is originally from western Canada (he was born in Alberta) and is currently a part owner of the Kamloops Blazers, the WHL team he played for prior to beginning his NHL career.
