Sean Monahan suspended 10 games for hit to head in OHL game
Sean Monahan, one of the top prospects in the 2013 NHL draft, received a 10-game suspension for an illegal hit to the head in a recent Ontario Hockey League game.
Ottawa 67's forward Sean Monahan is one of the top prospects eligible for the 2013 NHL draft, and he's off to a fast start this season. He has scored 12 goals with 24 assists in his first 24 games.
He'll have to wait a couple of weeks before he can add to those totals. The Ontario Hockey League announced Monahan has been suspended 10 games, effective immediately, for an illegal hit to the head against Colin MacDonald of the Plymouth Whalers.
Here is the play:
Our Chris Peters had Monahan as the No. 3 player in the 2013 draft on his big board back in October behind only Portland Winterhawks defenseman Seth Jones and Halifax Mooseheads forward Nathan MacKinnon.
