US Soccer star Michael Bradley loses bet, wears Canada hockey jersey
US Soccer midfielder Michael Bradley bet one of his Toronto FC coaches on the USA-Canada men's hockey game. As a result, Bradley had to wear a Canada sweater. Poor Michael.
Like many Americans, USA soccer star Michael Bradley had a lot of faith in Team USA to beat Canada in hockey at the Sochi Olympics. Considering Bradley now plays for Toronto's MLS team, that faith cost him.
Specifically, Bradley had to own up to a bet he made with Toronto FC assistant coach Jim Brennan and sport a Team Canada hockey jersey on Tuesday. Not just a Team Canada jersey, but the alternate black jersey. That makes this photo particularly troubling.
Oh, oh no. The American team owes you an apology, Michael, that must be rough. It's painful to American eyes to see that.
To make up for this, we present to you probably Bradley's finest career moment from the 2010 World Cup wearing the red, white and blue. He scored the tying goal late in the second half for the Americans against Slovenia to help them win the group (Bradley's goal starts at 2:21).
Bradley of course will be in the USA colors again this summer when the US competes in the World Cup in Brazil. Canada won't, so I guess there's some solace in this friendly rivalry for Bradley.
