VIDEO: Blackhawks, Wild share breakaways in end-to-end action
The Wild-Blackhawks Game 6 really opened up in the second period highlighted by a stretch of end-to-end-to-end-to-end action.
There's nothing quite like end-to-end action in a playoff hockey game.
The second period of Game 6 between the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night had plenty of that. It was one of the most entertaining periods of hockey you could ever hope to watch, chances up and down the ice.
No stretch exemplified that any more than a minute midway through the second period where the teams were basically doing sprints up and down the ice with glorious chance after glorious chance. That's why coaches put their players through bag skates all the time, to make sure moments like this don't cause their players to quit from exhaustion.
It was definitely not an exhibition of great defense but Ilya Bryzgalov and Corey Crawford did their parts with some outstanding saves back to back. Crawford in particular was amazing in the period for the Blackhawks.
