Ottawa Senators goalie Craig Anderson is having a great season, leading the league in save percentage and goals-against average. Despite missing 18 games with an ankle injury, he could still be a finalist for the Vezina Trophy.

What he did to New Jersey Devils forward Adam Henrique won't be on his highlight list.

As part of a chaotic sequence around the Senators' net on Friday night, Anderson was peering into the corner following the puck while Henrique was skating right next to him. Slyly, Anderson stuck out his stick and, with the butt end, caught the face of Henrique.

At the same time, David Clarkson and Zack Smith were having a fight behind the net. There was more pushing and shoving going on, so Anderson's high stick wasn't seen or called by the referees.

It will be interesting to see if the league will consider some discipline for Anderson over the play. I wouldn't think a suspension would be in order -- but perhaps a fine. There's really no reason for Anderson to be lifting his stick in that case other than to hit Henrique.

What say you; was it dirty or just more of an accident?
